First Look at Jordan

Greetings from Amman, Jordan! I got here yesterday at about 4:00 (I think....it was kind of confusing/a daze) and took a bus to our hotel. Not much has really happened yet, other than eating dinner, which was very tasty, and a walk to the "Emart" through a back alley looking thing that was really a surprisingly trafficked road. The Emart was a grocery store on the first level, kitchen stuff and household goods on the second floor, and electronics on the third. On the way out of our hotel, we saw a totally adorable kitten that was just the skinniest little thing and it was climbing all around on this one kid Jeff. I admit, even I petted the kitten. It was really that precious....I hope it doesn't have diseases :(

And, on the way back, two members of our Zion clique decided to slide down the big blowup slide in the sketchy little park thing. It seemed like something my sister would do.... or maybe I felt more like Britt, being the person who was standing at the bottom taking pictures. Anyway, I think they had fun until one girl rolled her ankle on her second time going down. The boys carried her back to the hotel and last I knew, they think it was a sprain. But I haven't heard anything since last night. Keep her in your prayers.

My roommates and I went to bed at around 12 and at 2 I found myself at the door of our room. It really kind of freaked me out because I've never sleep walked before! I think I was having a dream and although I really don't remember what it was about, I think it had something to do with Britt being locked outside?? Maybe not. But my roommates woke up and were like "whattt?!" and I woke up/realized what I was doing and was like "I'm really sorry!" and closed the door and got back into my bed. But now I am wide awake and heading to breakfast soon.

Below are some pictures: the prayer area in the airport, various shots from our bus ride, the kitten, and the big slide.

  1. ooooo...ahhhhhh....thanks for the first look photos! Very interesting. Boston fried chicken???
Don't worry too much about the sleep walking event. I'm sure it was just the result of being super overtired and discombobulated.
    Looking forward to more updates.
    Love you,

  2. Sweet Aleena! Glad the camera's working for ya. The photos are GREAT! I got to thinking the charger might not work there..do you need an adapter or something? Sure someone has one if you do. Strange about the sleep walking.

Keep the pictures coming when you have the time.

    ENJOY!!!

    Love ya!
